History
God has been faithful to the Northside Christian Church family for over thirty years.
1972
The church began in 1972 when a few families gathered together in a deli. A few months later, the church called its first minister Bill Gaslin from Louisville, Kentucky to join them.
1974-2006
In 1974, the church purchased land along Spring Cypress Road and moved an old school building to the site for its first permanent building. In 1978, an auditorium and office complex were added. In 1984, a family life center was built for dinners and activities.
In 1999, a major renovation was done and new offices and classroom spaces were added. In 2003, the Northside family recognized the need for even more space and purchased 34 acres on Kuykendahl Road for the purpose of relocation. However, Northside outgrew its Spring Cypress property before the Kuykendahl property was ready.
2006-2007
On April 9, 2006, Northside began conducting its morning worship services at Schindewolf Intermediate School. The church offices were moved to 18606 Kuykendahl, a strip shopping center, in July 2006, and the Spring Cypress facilities were sold in December 2006.
2008
Currently, Northside is finishing plans for its Kuykendahl property and will hopefully finish building in early 2009. Through faith and by God's provision, Northside will continue to be a church growing stronger and reaching more people with the love of Jesus.
Senior Ministers
In its thirty plus years of ministry, Northside has only had two senior ministers. Bill Gaslin served faithfully from 1972 until 1994. Northside then asked David Garison to become its next senior minister.
David has now served the Northside family for twenty years (1986-present): eight years as youth and music minister and became senior minister in 1994.
