Children are a valuable asset to our church family and make many contributions to the life of this church. At NCC we offer many activities for children of all ages. It is our hope that this information will answer questions you might have about our programs.
General Information
Classes are available for infants up to fifth grade for both services. All services are supported with outstanding curriculum. In addition, all classes for children have at least two teachers. We provide training for anyone who is interested in becoming a member of our teaching ministry. For a more indepth look at our children's department, check out our Parent Guide.
Nursery
The nursery is staffed with paid and volunteer workers. The children are separated into two rooms—Cuddlers and Cruisers. Each room is equipped with age-level appropriate furnishings.
Nurseries are provided for both services. A Bible based lesson is taught in the Cruiser's classes during both services. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer with this ministry please feel free to contact the Nursery Coordinator, Kelsey Josephson.
Pre-School
The 2’s, 3’s, 4’s and Pre-K rooms are staffed with volunteer workers. During both services, the children are taught a Bible based lesson and attend an interactive worship service, which focuses on their interests and needs. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer with this ministry please feel free to contact the Coordinator, Shelley Wells.
Elementary
Elementary Worship is offered during both services. The age groups are separated according to their developmental needs and appropriate curriculum:
- Kindergarten through Third: coordinated by Bonnie Curl
- Fourth through Fifth: coordinated by Rebecca Hancock
Club 45 meets during the 9:30 worship hour and then attends the 11:00 main worship service with their parents or sponsors. Please feel free to contact the appropriate coordinator with any questions.
Safety and Security
Since NCC wants to provide a safe and secure environment for our children, all volunteers must complete an application and background check. See our volunteer packet for more information.
Volunteers also receive periodic training on current safety and security policies. Lastly, every Sunday an adult must check in their child(ren) before entering our children's area. Stephany Robinson is our Check-In Coordinator.
A variety of activities are planned throughout the year. Please check our church calendar to see what is coming up soon!
Our Children's Ministry Leader is Julie Eastman. She can be reached at: (281) 350-4630.
