Imagine

August 13th, 2008

As the building takes shape, it is becoming easier to imagine what life on our new campus will be like. For instance…

Here is the front porch, facing Kuykendahl. Imagine, as you walk from the parking lot to the front doors, you walk onto this porch overlooking the pond! Imagine hanging out and fishing in the pond with some people you don’t even know!

Here is the a/c ductwork. Imagine walking into a warehouse type space and thanking God for the cool air as we gather to worship. Imagine worshipping God in this open area with people who were just introduced to our Lord!

Imagine as you finish teaching the 4th and 5th graders, you walk out and look over the foyer from upstairs. Imagine looking on as you see your friends greeting and getting to know people who are far from God.

Imagine yourself after church, hanging out in the outdoor furniture on the second floor balcony, overlooking the pond and watching the cars go by on Kuykendahl. What better opportunity to pray for someone driving by that does not know Jesus? (pic #4 & 5)

Remember, the building is just a tool. We are the church, and we want to see others become a part of the church. Imagine life when we move onto this campus. Imagine changed lives in our community.

Wet Steel Signing

August 7th, 2008

Well, the rain may have put a bit of a damper on our steel signing but we still had close to 100 people show up for the event. We slopped through a very wet and leaking structure but the excitement was extremely high. We’ve rescheduled the Steel Signing for August 24th, at 7:00 pm. Hope to see you then on a dry Sunday evening!

We have a roof!

July 21st, 2008

I cannot begin to tell you how awesome our builder, Brookstone, has been. With such a unique design they have been very careful to consider all the details and how it will function in a practical way for our ministry. This is a picture of a planning meeting that was held with our architect Kirk Guillory (to my right). You can also see one of our members, Wallace Tolland, who has been a tremendous blessing for the construction phase.  Speaking of planning, I’m beginning to think we will start planning the next building (Children’s) as soon as we move into this first phase!

We have a roof! The whole building is starting to take more shape as decking is going on.

This shot is actually the view we will have as we are walking into worship. The picture was taken from on the east side of the building on the other side of the drop-off drive. (It should also be noted that our walk from the back parking is going to be a bit of a hike… but just remember that it is worth it every time we cross the bridge and remember how the county paid off the land!)
